Description

Main orders screen. Used to create laboratory, x-ray or procedure orders.  The screen provides three (3) views, Pending orders, Order results and Result details/documents.


Access 


Through the Side Bar section: Click on the Main Orders button on the Side Bar of the Progress Note screen. Can't find the Main Orders buttonClick on Settings button on the toolbar of the Progress Note screen, Select the Side Bar Settings option. Select the Main Orders item from the available items area on the right side of the screen and drag/drop into the items window on the lower left corner of any Side Bar category. Press the Save button in order to store the change. The Side Bar panel will refresh and the button will appear under the category where it was added.

Through the Search section: Click on theSearch button located at the left side of screen and then select the Main Orders button.

Through the Patient Dashboard section: Click on the Pending Orders link located in the Patient Dashboard or click on theAdd button and select the Open Full Page option

Buttons

  • OB Print: 
    • Print Results: Displays the Select Template screen with the created Print Settings.  
    • Print Settings: Displays the Order Templates screen. 
  • Result Templates: Opens the Print Result Templates screen with the order templates created in Settings / Clinical / Order Templates.
  • Pivot Grid: Opens the Pivot Results window to view lab results in a pivot style format.
  • Charts: Opens the Order Result Chart screen to graph lab results. 
  • Add Orders Results: Click to add order results.  Results added here are not attached to any order.
  • Add New Order: Click to open the Add Order screen to add new orders or click on the History tab to reorder a previous one.
  • Previous: Return to the previous screen. 


Columns

  • Pending Orders: Displays that are still awaiting results.
  • View History: Opens the Order History screen for the selected patient. The screen allows users to re-print a previously created order.
  • Search: Use to search among pending orders (Press the Enter key to initiate search).
  • "Right Click": Display additional options for the selected pending order. 


  • Add Result: Allows to add order results. 
  • Add New Order: Allows to add a new order. 
  • Inactivate: Allows to deactivate the selected order. 
  • Print: Allows to print the selected order. 
  • Education Handout: Displays education handouts that have been mapped to the specific order. To map education handouts go to: Settings / Clinical / Educations Handouts.
  • Medline Information: Opens the MedlinePlus Connect Information screen and provides the hyperlink to access more information. At least one(1) LOINC code must be mapped to the order code. To map LOINC codes to orders go to: Settings / Clinical / Orders.


Important: To add results to a pending order just double click on the desired order and the Add Order Result screen will open in order to complete the task.

  • Results: displays orders for which results have been added. (Results can be added in detail (Per component) or by adding an image.)
  • FiltersFilter orders between Active, Inactive or All.


  • Link (Print Selected): Prints a report of the selected order with the results.
  • Link (Select Multiple): Click to enable the selection boxes for order with results. It allows to select multiple orders to print.
  • Search: Use to search among orders with results. (Press the Enter key to initiate search).
  • Display Grid: Displays orders with results based on the selected filter above (Active, Inactive or All).
  • "Right Click"Displays additional options for the selected order.

    • Add: Opens the Add Order Result screen. Results added here are not attached to any order.
    • Edit: Edit the results for selected entry.
    • Inactivate:
    • View Pivot Grid: Opens the Pivot Results window to view lab results in a pivot style format.
    • View Document: If a document has been scanned for the selected result, click this option to display the document on the Result Components/ Documents window on the right.
    • View e-Lab Data: View the details of the electronic lab results file received for the selected result. All electronic lab results are preceded by double asterisks "**".
    • Education Handout: Displays education handouts that have been mapped to the specific order. To map education handouts go to: Settings / Clinical / Educations Handouts.

    • Attach result to current encounter: Attaches the selected result to the current progress note.

                   Important: To edit results just double click on the desired entry and the Add Order Result screen will open in order to complete the task.     

  • Result Components / Documents: Displays the result components in detail and it is also the viewer for documents attached to an order.
  • View Document: Toggles between the results grid and the document viewer.
  • Search: Search text within the content of the results grid.
