Description

Screen used to manage the patients medication list.


Access 


Through the Side Bar section: Click on the Medication History button on the Side Bar of the Progress Note screen. Can't find the Medication History buttonClick on Settings button on the toolbar of the Progress Note screen, Select the Side Bar Settings option. Select the Medication History item from the available items area on the right side of the screen and drag/drop into the items window on the lower left corner of any Side Bar category. Press the Save button in order to store the change. The Side Bar panel will refresh and the button will appear under the category where it was added.

Through the Search section: Click on theSearch button located at the left side of screen and then select the Medication History button.

Through the Patient Dashboard section: Click on the Medication List link, located in the Patient Dashboard or click on the More button and select the Open Full Page option


Sections


Buttons

  • More:
    • Adm Drugs: Opens the Medication Administration screen, which is used to document medication administered (In-Office) to the patient.
    • Eligibility: Click to perform eligibility checking. 
    • Interactions: Opens the Medication Interactions screen, which is used to check or review medication interactions.
    • Reconcile: Opens the Patient Pharmacy Network History screen, which is used to perform medication reconciliation against the patient's medication history.
    • Reference: Click to display more information on the selected medication, including education handouts (English and Spanish), dosage information, dosage calculator, medication warnings, among others.
    • Save Layout: Allows to save the screen layout, according to the user's preference. 
    • Restore Layout: Allows to display the original layout of the screen. 
  • Print: The print preview will vary depending on the area or selection on the screen.
    • By Medication: Prints a report of the medication being displayed on the screen. (Filter the screen by selecting: Active, Discontinued, Cancelled or All)
    • By Prescription: Select a prescription to print.
  • Print: Allows to print the patient's active, cancelled and discontinued medications. 
  • No Known Drugs: Used to certify that the patient is not taking any medication. (Required to assist Meaningful Use measure compliance of Medication List maintenance).
  • Renewal: Click to renew the selected medication.
  • New Rx: Create a new prescription.
  • Add+: Add medication to the patient's medication list.
  • Edit: Allows to edit a selected patient's medication. 
  • Cancel: Allows to cancel the patient's selected medication. 
  • Save: Allows to store changes made in screen. 
  • Previous: Return to the previous screen

Filters: Select between Active, Discontinued, Cancelled, All. 

  • NarxCare: By pressing, the monitoring program will be displayed, which shows the information regarding the points of addiction and history of controlled medications prescribed to the patient. The provider may have access to the report of this information, by pressing the Show Report button. (Note: The information provided in this section is provided by ASSMCA.)


  • The following screen will be displayed:


  • Show Report: Pressing the Show Report button, will display the following screen: 

[ By Medication ] Tab: Displays medication. Right click on any specific drug for the following options:


  • Medline Plus Connect: Info button functionality para additional drug information. 
  • Change Dosage: Choose another dosage option of the same drug. (This action deactivates the former.)
  • Re-Code and Update: If no NDC is stored for the drug, this action performs a search of NDC codes available for the selected drug
  • Re-Code and Update Selected: If no NDC is stored for the drug, it opens the 10.6 ePrescribing //NDC Updater screen.

[ By Prescription ] Tab: Displays previous prescriptions.


Medication Detail


  • Drug Description: Medication name. 
  • Qty / Units: Quantity / Units. 
  • Qty Qualifier: Drug form (Tablet, Capsule, etc.).
  • Refill: Number of medication refill. 
  • SIG: Instructions. 
  • Drug Types: OTC, sample, etc.
  • Days Supply: Number of days of medications supply. 
  • Lot NumberLot number, in case is a medicine given by the same provider. 
  • Order Date: Date the medication was ordered. 
  • Renewal Date: Date the medication was renewed. 
  • Start Date: Date the patient started medication. 
  • End Date: Date the patient completed the medication treatment. 
  • Medication Status: Active, Cancelled or Discontinued
  • Reason: Reason to discontinue or cancel medication.
  • Notes: Free text

Prescription History By Medication


  • Date: Date medication was prescribed. 
  • Provider: Provider that prescribed medication. 
  • Quantity: Quantity number of the medication prescription. 
  • Refill: Number of refills allowed for the medication. 
  • Status: Displays the status of the shipment of prescription. The statuses are the following:  
  • Printed: La receta del medicamento fue impresa. 
  • Electronically sent to pharmacy: The prescription was sent electronically to the pharmacy. 
  • Electronically received at the pharmacy: The prescription was received electronically at the pharmacy.  
  • Cancel Medication: By pressing the right mouse button in this section, you can cancel the prescription. (Note: This action can only be carried out with active electronic prescription.) 


  • Last Updated by: User that last updated the selected medication.
  • Last Updated Date:
